Band-ography

Fire In Cairo 1983-1987

Fire In Cairo (originally known as Tomorrow's Heroes) were a five piece Cardiff band playing mostly original songs. Their early influences were The Jam, The Undertones, Stiff Little Fingers and the Skids among others. The band added a Keyboard player and became hugely influenced by bands such as U2 and Simple Minds. They split with great apathy in 1987. Rumours of a re-union have surfaced of late

Eat The Peach 1988-1991

Eat The Peach (formerly known as Bijoux Too) were a band playing well crafted guitar pop. The songriting axis of Nick Wall and Eamonn Elllaway produced some great original tunes. Michael joined them as Lead Guitarist in 1988. Gigs were far and few between in all honesty, but some great recordings were produced.

Suyu 1991-1994

Suyu were a well established South Wales band fronted by Mick Davis. Michael was asked to join on second guitar. The band were a hard working gigging band, playing mostly covers pf Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, and Tom Petty tunes. Suyu also had an acoustic side project which had a residency in Sams Bar Cardiff among various other venues throughout South Wales.

Colorism 1996-1999

Colorism were a 'studio-only' project consisting of Michael, Nick Wall (Eat The Peach) and Jo Lawson (Eat The Peach). Two albums were recorded in this period (Colorism and Urbania). Click on the below link for a sample of the title track from the second album.

The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band 1996-1999

At a time when the TB (Tribute Band) bug was spreading various members of Suyu decided to put together an Eagles Tribute Band. Rehearsals were intense, but worth it. The band enjoyed 3 years of successful gigging which unfortunately ended in the same way that the orginal Eagles split up. An onstage brawl!

Madassa Soul Band 2000 - 2003

One of the most well known bands in South Wales, Madassa contained some pedigree (until Michael joined!). Having supported Van Morrison and played various Celeb parties, they found themselves a guitarist short one day. So they employed a short guitarist. Michael enjoyed a long run of gigs with Madassa, but eventually decided to hang his plectrum up in 2003. An album of original songs (Songs from the Monkey House) was recorded by Michael in 2003
